Dear Hawthorne Families,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable summer break. For those families that are new to our district or to our school, I would like to welcome you to Mustang country! Westerville City Schools and Hawthorne Elementary are truly wonderful places to be!
The Hawthorne staff has been hard at work getting ready to welcome students back to school on August 16th. We are looking forward to meeting each of our Mustang families and partnering with you in order to provide your child with the best school experience possible. We are commited to meeting the needs of all students not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. We have the hardest working and most committed staff there is!
A few important reminders:
Student arrival time is 8:50 am. Please do not drop off your student early. Staff is not on duty prior then.
The traffic pattern for arrival procedures has changed. Please review the map and procedures by clicking here.
PTO meets on the second Wednesday of every month in the cafeteria at 7:00 pm. Please come join us!
Please review our student handbook. There are some important changes to birthday treats as well as having lunch with your student that you will need to know.
Finally, if you are planning to walk your child to class on the first day of school, you will need to sign in at the office. Please be prepared to wait during sign in. We have a large amount of families who want to walk their child to class. In order to avoid this long wait, please join us on August 15th from 2:30-3:30 for meet the teacher. This is a great way to show your child his or her classroom, drop off any needed school supplies and meet your child’s teacher without having to wait in the first day of school line.
I am looking forward to another exciting school year! Thank you for all you do to support our Mighty Mustangs!
