WCSD Still Delivering Meals to Children
Please know that children are still allowed to pick up meals at their designated meal distribution locations. Some expressed concern that the state's new "Stay at Home" order meant they could no longer go to these locations for their children to obtain food. This program falls under one of the identified reasons you are ALLOWED to leave your home. However, we encourage you to follow social distancing guidelines and stay at least six feet away from others who are there. As much as children may want to visit or hug their friends, please do not allow this to happen.
Dear Hawthorne Families,
I could not be more excited to be the new leader of Hawthorne Elementary School. We are committed to helping each student reach their maximum academic potential. Equally as important, we pride ourselves in offering a challenging and safe learning environment where all students are nurtured academically, socially and emotionally. As a staff we are committed to inspiring and guiding each student to his or her maximum potential. As a school community, we understand how essential it is for families and the school to partner together. Bridging the gap between home and school is a vital key to each child achieving their maximum potential and we will work hard to earn your support.
I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve in my first year as the principal of Hawthorne Elementary School. I look forward to meeting all of you as we work collaboratively to make Hawthorne Elementary the place to be!
I would like to take the time to introduce myself to you. I will be entering my 22nd year in education and have worked in Ohio as well as California as a teacher, instructional coach and an administrator. Most recently I served as the Vice Principal of Walnut Springs middle school here in Westerville for the past five years. I am originally from Youngstown, Ohio and have been married to my wife Nicole, also an educator, for 21 years. We have a five year old daughter Elissa. I have a passion for education and I believe everyday that I walk into this building is an opportunity to change the world.
Hawthorne Elementary is an amazing school with dedicated teachers and support staff, outstanding students, and supportive parents and community members. My door is always open, so please come by and introduce yourself.
Mr. Ernest Clinkscale - Principal
