Pride Period: Academic Assistance Available for Students

Tutoring – Are you having difficulty writing that paragraph for Language Arts? Still have questions about last night’s math homework? Do you need a hand getting organized for the day?

Pride Period is your answer to those questions and more.

Every Tuesday through Friday, from 7:40 to 8:00 AM there are teachers waiting to help you with Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies or organization. In the mornings you can get a pass from teachers with Hall Duty to go back to the academic wings for help. You can also ask your teacher for a pass the day before you go to get help. For the afternoon, the process is the same … all you need is a pass to drop in and get assistance from a content teacher.

Pride Period, where teachers are here to help!

Today is Tuesday, April 24th and it’s an B day.

Happy Birthday today to Andrew B., Talan C. and Christian J.! Happy birthday!

Last Night the Boys Track and Field Team did something that the Cleveland Browns and Notre Dame football teams could only dream of....Return to Glory.  The Jaguars Ruled the Ville last night with a convincing win over there cross town rivals. Leading the team with a beautiful trifecta display of running and throwing was Luka G. finishing with 3 first place finishes.  Kyle F. did the same in both relays and Won the Title as fastest lap man in America; well at least during that 57 seconds that it took him to run the event. Jason R. defined all odds and won the High Jump, something Woody Harrelson thought could not be done.  Nolan P. and Wyatt B. locked up the shot put with 3rd and 4th place finishes with Patrick M. right behind them and Nolan also scored big points in the discus. Jack T. ran his personal best in the 200 to finish 4th and also helping the 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 teams take titles.  Michael R. ran his fastest 100 meter dash yet, finishing 3rd and helping his relay teams place and win a title. The Boys distance crew swept the Mile run with Caleb L. becoming the fastest long sprinter in Westerville, winning the event and taking first in the 800, a feat that hasn't been done since a Bush was president.  Chip S. and Max H. finished 2nd and 3rd and help score points in the 800 meter sprint as well. Jake P. jumped over the moon to take second in the long jump and helped the 4 by 400 team win the final race of the night.  Sam H.also ran his best 200 Meter Hurdle event to seal the victroy for the Jaguars. Tyler R., Cullen H., Adam M., Luke P., Owen G. and Michael N. helped the boys with outstanding performances in their events.  The Boys and Girls teams are Home tomorrow for their only race so come and and cheer and eat all the food that is waiting to be bought at the concession stand.

On Saturday, the Lady Jags track team placed 2nd at the Big Walnut Invitational! Taylor H.won the 400 and 200, and was 2nd in the 100. Mal L. won the high jump, placed 2nd in long jump, and 3rd in the 200 meter hurdles. Tara W. was third in the 800. Ashley C. was 6th in long jump and the 200 meter hurdles. The 4x1 team of Katie T., Allie S., Hannah M. and Kiah S. placed 5th. The 4x4 team of Allie S., Kiah S., Tara W. and Marisa H. placed 2nd. Great job, ladies!

Last night, in the rain and wind, the ladies competed in the Three Dogs and a Cat Invitational. Standout performances include: Tara W. - winning the 1600 and the 800, Taylor H. winning the 200 and placing second in the 400, Mal L. - second in long jump and the 200 meter hurdles, the third place 4x1 team of Katie T., Allie S., Hannah M., Kiah S., the second place 4x2 team of Katie T., Allie S., Hannah M. and Megan S., and the third place 4x4 team of Allie S., Tara W., Kayla N. and Marisa H.. Well done!

Tomorrow night, the team will compete at home at 5 pm. Come show your support for the Jaguars!
