2021-22 GMS Basketball Tryout Information

Basketball tryouts will begin on Monday, October 25th. In order to tryout for basketball, athletes *MUST* be registered on Final Forms (linked above) and have all forms/signatures completed, including submitting a valid physical. If you have questions about the tryout process, please contact your respective coach listed in the coaches directory at the bottom of this page.

7th/8th Grade Girls Basketball

Open Gyms: Monday, October 11th (3 - 4:30 pm), Monday, October 18th (3 - 4:30 pm), and Tuesday, October 19 (3 - 4:30pm)

Tryouts: October 25, 26, and 27 (3 - 4:30pm each day)

7th Grade Boys Basketball

Open Gyms: Wednesday, October 20 (3 - 4:30 pm), Thursday, October 21 (6:30 - 8pm)

Tryouts: October 25, 26, and 27 (5 - 7 pm each day)

8th Grade Boys Basketball

Open Gyms: Thursday, October 21 (5 - 6:30 pm), Saturday, October 23 (9 - 10:30 am)

Tryouts: October 25, 26, and 27 (7 - 9 pm each day)


2021-22 GMS Wrestling Information

Wrestling practice will begin on Monday, November 1. In order to participate in wrestling, athletes *MUST* be registered on Final Forms (linked above) and have all forms/signatures completed, including submitting a valid physical. OHSAA Required Pre-Season Meeting

Prior to athletic participation, the OHSAA requires parents to attend a rules meeting held by the athletic department. This meeting is available in video format below. After watching the video, please complete the acknowledgement form.

Cross Country/Track & Field Uniform Information

Genoa Middle School athletes participating in cross country and track & field purchase their own uniform singlet/shorts. The same uniform will be used for cross country and track & field.

Genoa Middle School Athletic Department Tryout/Participation Requirements

In accordance with OHSAA, all athletes competing in or trying out for a sport MUST have a current, updated physical and have registered and completed all required forms in Final Forms. No exceptions can be made to this rule, if anything is missing or incomplete, athletes may NOT  participate until it's complete. 

Remember to participate in tryouts/practice you must....

1. Have an updated Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (this link provides the physical, concussion and Lindsey's law copies) on file with the school, which is good for 13 months. Please turn in your completed form (with doctor's signature) to your coach.

2. Register and complete all forms in FinalForms (see additional information above)

3. Before the first game/competition, the Westerville City Schools Pay-to-Participate fee must be paid.
