Announcements 4/23/18

There is a meeting this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. For all interested students performing as a percussionists in the South Marching Band this fall. This open to all student musicians who will be in grades 8-12 in the fall of 2018.  Opportunities include Battery, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Synthesizer, and much more!   We accept any students who willing to learn and love music!  Come meet our staff and learn how you can get involved. We'll discuss all audition information and our summer/fall schedule.  See you there!  If you can’t make the meeting but are interested see Mr. Laswell in the band room, or e-mail him at LaswellJ@wcsoh.org

Hey students! Paint Brawl is back and better than ever. On Tuesday May 8, be prepared for more ducks, dodges and dives, and more paint and prizes than last year! This year is bigger and better than ever so don't miss out. Sign up at lunch this week Tuesday through Friday for only $5 a person or $25/team of 5! If you have questions or want to sign up after school, see Ms. Sefton in 116 or Mr. Schultz in 238 with questions! 

Attention Teachers: interims are in for those who have requested a paper copy and need to be distributed in homeroom today.  Please check your mailboxes even if you do not have a homeroom class. You may have interims going to students who attend a later class as well.  Return any interims of students who are not in your class to Cherie Lappen.  If a student is absent, their interim can be given to them when they return. 

Hey seniors, don’t forget to take a minute to fill out The Scribe’s senior survey to reminisce about your time at South and get featured in the newspaper. Scan the QR code on the flyers posted around school or check the senior google classroom for a link. 

Attention all Global Scholar participants:  The field trip is tomorrow, April 24 and all permission slips MUST be turned in to Mrs. Fuchs in Room 225 today 

Seniors, want stuff from your school Google account after you graduate? Senior's district Google accounts are disabled shortly after graduation. If you would like to save any of your work, you have two options: Google Transfer and Google Takeout. Directions are in Google Classroom for the Class of 2018. See Mrs. King in the iStudio if you have questions. 

Looking to get involved this fall? The football program is looking for a few students interested in working on their film / Hudl team. It is a great opportunity to get some real world experience while building a resume for college and beyond! If you are interested please speak with Coach Christ or Coach Calland. 

Any AP student who did not attend the Preadministration session in the auditorium must complete this process before exams. 

AP Exam Pre-Administration
The make-up for AP Exam pre-administration will not happen until the week of April 30.  We are short on the packets needed and are awaiting a shipment.  Look for an announcement regarding this by the end of the week. 

Attention all students interested in being a class officer next year: Forms are available in the main office or with any class adviser. These are due in to Mrs. Pritchard for seniors, Ms. Sefton for juniors and Miss Detrick for sophomores no later than April 27. Elections will be held if necessary on May 1!  Any questions see an adviser.

Like food? Like raising money for your school? Then head over to chipotle on State Street Saturday April 28 from 4-8pm. Tell them you are there to help raise money for the WSHS Class of 2020 and get yourself some burritos!

Attention anyone interested in student council for next year: applications are available with Mrs. Coggburn in room 200 or Ms. Sefton in room 116. These are due back by May 4 to one of the advisers in order to participate in next year's student council. See either adviser if you have questions! 

Club and Organization picture day will be on Wednesday the 25th! Lists will be posted around the school early next week and your teachers will have the schedule displayed in their rooms. Pay attention to what group you are in so you don't miss out on your group picture!! 

All boys interested in playing high school golf this fall, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 25th, at 7:00 pm in the iStudio here at South.  This meeting is for both players and parents, as we will be discussing information regarding the upcoming fall season.  If you have any questions or concerns, please see Coach Haney in room 242. 

Cheerleading clinics on will be held Wednesday, April 25th in the main gym; on Thursday, April 26th in the aux gym; and on Friday, April 27th in the main gym- all days from 6-8 pm.  Cheer tryouts will be Saturday, April 28th!  Paperwork required to tryout can be found in the Cheerleading folder outside of the Athletic Office. 

Attention all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors interested in high school girls golf. Coach Matthew Yingling will hold an informational meeting on April 24 at 7:00 PM in the Westerville South media center. All interested players and parents are encouraged to attend – to meet the coach and gain information about the upcoming season. If you cannot attend or have furthers questions, please contact Coach Yingling via e-mail at yinglinm@wcsoh.org or by phone at 614-216-8179.

Announcements 4/20/18

The Istudio will be closed all day for testing make ups. Students, as we look to wrap up the testing week please be sure you have completed all make up tests. If any student was scheduled or expected to take a test and they have yet to do so please report to the Istudio today right after homeroom to complete.

Any AP student who did not attend the Preadministration session in the auditorium must complete this process before exams. 

AP Exam Preadministration:

We will have a make-up session on Wednesday, 4/25/18 in the Guidance Classroom.  Available times will be before school (7 am), all lunch periods, and immediately after school (2:10 pm). 

Teachers, please check your mailbox for Invitations to Evening For Excellence/Night of Reflection that need to be passed out in homeroom today.

Join Ohio State and nearly 200 other colleges and universities, Saturday, April 21st from 1-4 pm, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for the Columbus National College Fair.  This is a free event for students and parents.  For more details you can pick up, or take a picture of, one of the fliers in the Guidance office. 

Come support South theatre this weekend. The spring musical, The Pajama Game is Friday and Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2. Tickets are $10 and sold at the door.

Attention seniors! Tickets for the senior trip to Cedar Point are on sale this week online at Local Level Events. You must use your student ID to purchase tickets. If you have any outstanding fees or fines that you must pay before purchasing tickets, see Ms. Saari in the front office.  Information can be found on the Senior Google Classroom.  

Attention Class of 2019 Early Release/Late Start and Senior Lunch Off-Campus Forms are available in the Guidance Office for the 2018-2019 school year.
