Superintendent John Kellogg, Treasurer Nicole Marshall, and the Westerville City Schools Board of Education honored Westerville City Schools Transition Specialist Cassandra Lawson on Monday evening, March 6.  She was lauded for having received the Westerville Area Civitan Club’s second annual Special Education Professional Award.

Civitan Club President Thomas D. Daugherty signed the award, which said, in part, that Lawson “goes beyond expectations to provide authentic transition opportunities to students with multiple disabilities.  She routinely meets with staff on community information, reaches out to community members and establishes meaningful and lasting partnerships on behalf of the district.  Due to her eloquence and ingenuity, members of the community are highly motivated to work with students attending Westerville City Schools.”
