Shhhh! We can't let the Staff of McVay in on our secret! Staff Appreciation will be May 6th through the 10th.  This is a great week to show all McVay staff how much you love and appreciate their hard work.  This year, all staff members will be recognized because THEY ARE ALL COOL! 

Monday, 5/6 – teacher/staff breakfast sponsored by the PTA – please contact Kim Preston at 614-402-4957 if you would like to contribute

Tuesday, 5/7 – Random Acts of Kindness Day – do random acts of kindness for your classroom teachers, special teachers, and staff

Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, 5/8-5/10 – Bring your teachers and staff a COOL Gift

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please remember to acknowledge all your teachers and staff support during this special week—our Specials teachers work super hard and we tend to forget them—let’s make it a special week for EVERYONE!!!

2013-2014 PTA Executive Board Positions

It's that time of year again! We are looking for volunteers to help fill our PTA Executive Board for the 2013-2014 school year. Nominations will be presented at the April 9th PTA meeting. If you are interested in serving on the board or nominating someone in any of the areas listed, please fill out the form below and return it in an envelope marked “PTA Nomination” to your child’s teacher or email your nominations to Judy Crawford at The Executive Board Election will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, at 7 p.m. in the McVay Art Room. Nominations may be accepted from the floor for any executive board position.




President - Preside over the General Membership and Executive Board meetings, coordinates the work of the officers and committees, serve as ex-officio member of all committees, appoint committee chairmen, oversees the general PTA calendar to ensure that timelines are met to hold an event or activity, liaison with school administrators to keep an open line of communication between the school and parents and perform duties described in by-laws.

Vice President – Serve as aide to the president, assists chairpersons, and school personnel and performs any duties in the president’s absence or inability to serve.

Second Vice-PresidentAct as aide to president, performs any duties in the president’s absence.

Treasurer – Have custody of the funds and maintain a full and accurate account of the receipts and disbursements. Provide a financial statement at each meeting.

Recording Secretary – This person is responsible for recording the minutes of the General Membership and Executive Board meetings. Act as custodian of the permanent file; maintain a current copy of the by-laws and standing rules, and current membership list.

Corresponding Secretary – Conduct correspondence as directed by the president, board or association.

Maintain a file of correspondence received by the association.

Westerville Parent Council Representative – Attend the monthly meetings of the Westerville Parent Council PTA held September through May and report back to the association. Be a member of the PTA council voting body representing this PTA.

Westerville Parent Council - Alternate – In absence of the Westerville Parent Council representative, attend the monthly meetings of the Westerville Parent Council and report back to the association.
