Key Club
Key Club is a student-led, student-organized community service organization that is sponsored by a local Kiwanis Club.
Advisor:
Dates and times of meetings: Every other Thursday after school
Requirements for membership: $12 in dues, a minimum number of 15 service hours, and attendance at one Kiwanis meeting required
Approximate number of members: 40
 
Mathletes
Have math related fun in a social atmosphere.
Advisor: Tyler Winner and Rich Gary
Dates and times of meetings: Wednesdays after school (1 per month)
Requirements for membership: Sweet math skills
Approximate number of members: 20
 
Ski Club
A club open to all students at South providing the opportunity for students to learn to ski or just enjoy a winter activity.
Advisor: Jill MacDonald
Dates and times of meetings: January and February one evening per week after school.
Requirements for membership: Fees for ski rental and transportation
Approximate number of members: 30-90
 
Thespians/Drama Club
The goal of Thespian Troupe 513 is to:

• To promote an appreciation of the theatre arts in our school and in the local community
• To promote a friendly, inviting and accepting environment that fosters and nurtures our love of theatre
• To show respect and support for everyone involved in the arts
• To learn about the many different aspects of theatre arts including technical skills and acting
• To produce a student written and directed show (Scholarship Show) to generate funds to give scholarships to theatre seniors
• To promote the continuation of the proud theatre tradition of Westerville South High School
• To have fun!

Dates and times of meetings: Every 1st Wednesday of the month after school plus additional planned activities including theatre workshops, shows in the community, theatre outreach, improvisation contests, and theatre conferences.
Requirements for membership: Complete membership form with $20.00 dues/year.

Theatre
South's theatre department produces 3 mainstage shows per year including two plays and one musical. Students learn all facets of theatre both on stage and off stage. This includes acting and technical aspects. Actors work on different aspects of their craft including: voice production and articulation, warming up, stage movement, stage directions, blocking, character development, stage business, ensemble work, and improvisation. Tech members compose the following crews: costuming, make-up, carpentry (set building), stage and house managing, lighting, sound, publicity, box-office, and properties (props).

Dates and times of meetings: Acting rehearsals are held after school from 3-6pm. Technical crew meets on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-8pm. Additional rehearsal times are added as needed.
Requirements for membership: Auditions and interviews are held for each show. Students must also be active members of Thespian Troupe 513.

Christians in Action
A time for fellowship and bible study with friends after school
Advisor: tba
Dates and times of meetings: One afternoon per week after school for 1 hour.
Requirements for membership: None

Student Council
Organize school and community fundraisers along with other school activies and events. Main events include Homecoming, Caring and Sharing, Blood Drive
Advisor: Jason Rowsey & Casey Fuchs
Dates and times of meetings: No definite schedule. Meetings held after school and during homeroom.
Requirements for membership: Attend meetings, participate in events, complete application
Approximate number of members: 100
 
Spanish
The Spanish Club will promote the usage of Spanish and the study of Hispanic culture(s) outside of class. Activities might includ additional opportunities to practice Spanish. Comunity outreach programs and going to Mexican restaurants, eat good food and practice Spanish. Come join the fun!

Requirements for membership: 1. Members must be enrolled currently in a Spanish class

2. Members may not have had discipline problems in that class.

3. Members are required to complete service work outside of the school day.

Stage Crew
These students enjoy the technical side of theatre. They help in the auditorium for school events as well as outside contracts.

National Honor Society
Service based organization
Advisor: Bobbie Mucha
Dates and times of meetings: Varies
Requirements for membership: 3.6 GPA Jr./Sr. Spring of year Character, Community Service Leadership, Faculty selection committee
Approximate number of members: 50
 
SCRIBE
Writing, research, interviewing for articles that will be published in the WSHS newspaper, The Scribe. The Scribe is sold monthly and members are required to obtain ads for The Scribe as well as layout the newspaper for publishing.
Advisor: Phyllis Magold
Dates and times of meetings: Meets as a class. Journalism 2 and 3 are daily classes whose main responsibility is to produce the school newspaper.
Requirements for membership: Must take journalism as a class to be a member of The Scribe.
Approximate number of members: 30
 
WINGS
A literacy magazine run by students, edited and revised by students, published by students (overseen by advisor)
Advisor: Allison Graham
Dates and times of meetings: Varies per quarter.
Requirements for membership: Open mind and works well with others.
Approximate number of members: 10 or more
