Student learning is driven by recruiting, developing, and retaining highly effective and skilled staff members. In an effort to promote this performance objective, the Westerville City Schools Office of Human Resources has launched a new website. The goal of the reimagined website was twofold: to attract a highly qualified and diverse candidate pool to consider joining the Westerville City Schools community, and to provide current employees with immediate access to resources they may need. Focus groups and surveys of current staff, as well as prospective candidates for employment, helped identify what they desire most from a website. This feedback ultimately shaped the content and design of the department’s new online presence.
In an effort to celebrate and recognize the current staff, the new site also features pictures and quotes from current teachers and employees as they answer the question, “Why Westerville?” The HR team launched this campaign as a way to highlight what draws employees to Westerville City Schools and why they choose to stay in the district.
