Dear Hanby Families,

Happy New School Year! It is almost that time again with less than three weeks until the start of the 2016 - 2017 school year! I am so excited to return to Hanby for a third year and hope that all of our families are ready for the best school year yet!  Please review the information to help you start preparing for the start of the school year! 

IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES

First Day of School:

Thursday, August 18, 2016, for students in grades 1-12

Tuesday, August 23, 2016, for preschool and kindergarten students                                                                                                      

Hanby Back to School Day(s):  Thursday, August 11th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and

              Friday, August 12th from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

During Back to School Days, families will learn the assigned teacher(s) for their student(s) and receive additional information about the coming school year. In addition, a transportation representative will be available to answer any questions about bus routing. Transportation representatives will only be available on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Students who "pop" in to Back to School Days will receive a lollipop treat from the principal! Please make sure to save the date!

Walk-Thru and meet the teacher: Wednesday, August 17th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Walk-thru is a time for you and your family to come take a sneak peek at the classrooms, meet your teacher and drop off school supplies.

Curriculum Night: Wednesday, August 24, 2016

Grade level times are as follows:  First, second and third grade starts at 5:30p.m.

                                                 Fourth and fifth grade starts at 7:00p.m.

Curriculum Night is an opportunity for parents to come to school and learn about the curriculum that will be covered during the school year as well as learn the routines and procedures of the classroom. 

COMPLETE AND ACCESS STUDENT INFORMATION ONLINE

PowerSchool Parent Portal

Returning Students: Parents and guardians of returning students already should have created a PowerSchool Parent Portal account to access student information. We have enclosed a letter with information on how to create an account.

New Students: For families of students who are new to our district, we have enclosed a letter with information on how to create an account.

Please contact the school office with any questions about your Parent Portal account!

Student Medical and Consent Forms

Families can now complete or update their students’ Emergency Medical Information and Parental Consent Forms online!  Simply log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal for each student and click the “Forms” icon to the left. Please complete all forms prior to Back to School Days.

2016-17 SCHOOL FEES

Kindergarten: $18.50    Grade 1: $32.00   Grade 2: $32.00

Grade 3: $28.00           Grade 4: $30.00   Grade 5: $30.00

Families may pay their grade-level fees by cash or check (made payable to WBOE) during Back to School Days. Fees also may be paid online by credit card. Simply go to www.wcsoh.org and click on EZPay under the Resources section. Fees must be paid by October 1, 2016.

FLU SHOT CLINIC

If you would like your student to have the flu shot vaccination at school this year, please complete the enclosed Health Heroes Vaccination Clinic form and return it to Back to School Days or, after that, to the school office.
