Greetings Hanby Families!!!
Welcome to March. We are looking forward to warmer weather and watching the early blossoming of flowers in the Hanby garden signaling the onset of spring.
March is a very busy month ending with our Spring Break. Preparations are underway for our 12th annual Art Auction sponsored by the PTA. Do you have an art talent or a craft that you can share? The Art Auction Committee is seeking donations and they welcome your personal donations or contributions made by your friends or local business organizations. The Arts Auction is a fabulous family event and a Hanby tradition. The fund raiser is one of are largest sources of donations which support the many enrichment activities we have for our students. It's a fun Sunday activity for the whole family too!!!
Mark your calendars for the Spaghetti Dinner on March 17!!!! All students will provide a musical performance under the direction of Mrs. Fortman and Grades 3 and 5 will have art on display. This is another great friend and family event!!!
During the first two weeks of March, students in Grades 2-5 will be participating in Terra Nova Testing. This test is a district administered assessment to provide information about student learning for the teachers and the district. The Terra Nova is a district diagnostic test.
We are planning lots of activities for the month of April which is Arts Month. Students may submit work for the writing contest at the library by March 5 for possible inclusion in the Arts Month publication. The district will have an art show and we will also be showcasing student artwork and musical talents at the Westerville Community Center. Look for art activities in the community that you can share with your family during arts month.
Yours,Jan Fedorenko, Ph.D.
