Dear Hanby Families,

HAPPY FEBRUARY! I can hardly believe we are already halfway through the year! Please spend time talking to your child about any goals they may make regarding the remainder of the school year. Discuss with them their areas of strengths and spend time developing an action plan for refining any areas in which they may need to improve. We still have a lot of information to cover the remainder of the year so we very much appreciate your support!

Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) Hanby Movie Event: Recently we held a school wide assembly focused on positive behavior. Each classroom created and filmed a movie which depicted The Hanby Way for their assigned common area. During the assembly we reviewed expectations while watching each award winning film. Please talk with your child about the film their class created as well as your expectations for following school rules.

PTA Meeting: On Wednesday, January 27 at 7:00pm, PTA will host a very special PTA Meeting: Q & A with Dr. K! Dr. Kellogg will attend the PTA meeting here at Hanby! We are looking forward to this and invite you to attend! Come share with Dr. Kellogg all of the wonderful things happening at Hanby! Hope to see you there!

Magnet Fair-Coming Soon!:  Please continue to tell others about the positive experiences you are having here at Hanby. It will soon be time for the Magnet Fair (tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2016 6:00-7:30pm at Heritage Middle School) and your positive feedback encourages other students to apply! Thank you for sharing positive things about Hanby!

Intent to Return Letter: In preparation for the upcoming Magnet Fair mentioned above, please look for a letter in your child's book bag on Friday, February 12. This Intent to Return letter will ask for you to indicate your intentions on returning your child to Hanby next school year-it reserves your seat! We ask that all letters be returned by Friday, February 19.  Please check your child's book bag for this important information.

Spring Testing: Spring Testing is rapidly approaching. In preparation please visit the Westerville City School District's webpage in order to determine testing dates. Please be mindful of not scheduling vacations or appointments on these days so that your child is able to test with his or her class.

As you know, the home school connection and working together as a team is of the utmost importance- Together Everyone Achieves More!  Thank you for all that you do to support Hanby as we work towards the common goal of guiding your child to soar to new academic heights! Again, Happy New Year! This will be the best year yet!
