Dear Hanby Families,
Happy Fall! The month of October brings fun for the family-such as apple picking and visits to the pumpkin patch. It also means the end of hot summer days! As the weather does begin to get cooler outside, inside of the building your children are still working very hard! Please make sure you have signed up for a conference time with your child’s teacher during conference days in October. There will be Early Release (students dismiss at 2:30pm) on October 20 and No School for Students on October 21st, 27th and 28th due to Professional Development and Parent Teacher Conference days.
You do not want to miss this opportunity to check in with your child’s teacher on things that are going well and anything that may need refinement! Please also know that our door is always open to you! If you can not attend any of the designated conference dates in October, please make arrangements to attend an alternate time. The Home School Connection is essential to student success!
Also this month will be Hanby’s Annual Book Fair! It will be held the week of October 10-14th! Please consider giving your child the gift of Literacy by purchasing a new book for him or her. Also this month, on Monday, October 31st Hanby will have its’ annual Book Character Costume Day! Time to start thinking about those book related costumes-just like last year Literature prizes will be given to the Best Book Character Costume at each grade level. A reminder that your child should bring the book that their costume represents to school on that day. Also, no masks, fake weapons, or “scary” costumes are allowed! This is meant to be a fun activity so your help with complying with the guidelines is appreciated! I can’t wait to see all of the creative costumes!
In closing, thank you for all that you do! We truly appreciate all of your support!
