From the Principal’s Desk:
Dear Hanby Families,
I can hardly believe that we are already into the second grading period! While the weather outside may be unpredictable, one thing you can count on is that there is a lot of learning and many activities going on insider the building! Please review the following information regarding the current Hanby Happenings:
WEATHER CONDITIONS: The weather does seem to be changing daily. I just want to remind everyone to please remember to send students to school with their hats, mittens, coats, etc. We also ask that you label them! We have many coats, hats, and lunch bags in our lost and found area- labeling helps them get returned much faster!
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AWARD WINNER: Did you know that Westerville City Schools awards a Martin Luther King Jr. Award to a primary and intermediate winner each year to a selected student that has demonstrated qualities of the great leader? I am pleased to announce that this year's primary winner is Hanby's very own fifth grade student- Donovan Varney! Congratulations Donovan! We are proud of you for always demonstrating the Hanby Way!
THIRD GRADE OAA: Kudos to our grade 3 students! The results of the third grad OAA are in and our students scored an average of 70 percent- just ten percent away from the state standard of 80 percent. We will continue to work hard. I am confident we will meet and even exceed the goal!
BARNES AND NOBLE BOOK FAIR: Please consider sharing the gift of literacy with family and friends by purchasing books from the Barnes Polaris location. Just shop between Thursday, December 4 - Monday, December 8th and they will donate a percentage of sales to Hanby, which we will use to purchase even more literature for the library! Please note that you must take in a special flyer (we will send it home with your child) in order for Hanby to receive credit! Please also note you can also shop online just use the Bookfair Code 1143165 at checkout!
In closing, thank you so much for all you do to support Hanby!
