Building Message

Andrew Heck

The 2016 year has started with great excitement and focus on learning.  COSI on Wheels’ Astronomy presentation and breakout sessions were engaging and provided students with an interactive way of learning.  Thank you to our PTA and volunteers for a wonderful day. We would also like to thank Jersey Mike’s Subs for providing lunch on Thursday for our volunteers.

Along with a  focus on academics ,the staff at Cherrington is focused on the emotional and social development of our students.  We are going to continue to increase the recognition of our students with Gold Leadership Tickets that highlight students making good choices as a part of the 7 Healthy Habits program.

When students do not make good choices, The white behavior correction forms will provide parents, teachers and staff information about the inappropriate behavior their students are showing at school.  The hope is to continue to provide communication with all stakeholders, including our families.  Parents please sign these forms and return to school.

The Staff at Cherrington are very proud of the many grade 3-5   students who continue to make great gains with Lexia.  Certificates for passing levels are usually awarded by Mr. Heck on Fridays.  Keep up the great reading skills practice.

Finally, we would like to wish the best to Mrs. Dyksterhouse as she is moving back to Michigan.  As an amazing  instructional coach, she has worked with teachers to meet the many needs of our staff and students.  She has been instrumental in creating an effective learning environment.  Ms. Hinz will be moving into the position and Mrs. Gastin will be our new 2nd grade teacher.  We will all work together to make our transition positive for our kids.

Go Cougars!
