Meet Mr. Doherty, Concord Counseling
I am Mr. Doherty, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I am a Substance Use Prevention Clinician from Concord Counseling Services. I provide substance use prevention services including one-on-one meetings, small groups, and classroom lessons to Westerville City Schools. In my work with students I help teach positive skills, build healthy decision making, explore the role of emotions and peer relations, and provide information about the impact of substance use. I now have the wonderful opportunity to be able to provide stress management and time management groups to the students of Westerville. If you would like more information please feel free to see more information below.
I will also be holding open office hours to help students and parents address topics related to stress management, executive functioning, or substance use prevention. If you would like to contact me directly please send me an email at related to stress management, executive functioning, or substance use prevention. Small (virtual) Groups for Stress Management and Executive Functioning:
Stress management and executive functioning are key skills for a student's success in school and beyond. This group will meet for 20-30 minutes in order to focus on providing students the skills to be better able to manage the day to day stressors that can lead to burn out and fatigue. We will be focusing on the importance of time management, study habits, emotion regulation and communication. There will also be open office hours following the group meetings so that students can ask further questions and explore more personally specific topics.
- All begin at 12:00-noon
- March 3: Elementary (1st Wed.)
- March 10: Middle School (2nd Wed.)
- March 17: High School (3rd Wed.)
