Earn While You Learn!
No Commercial Driver’s License? No problem! Through our paid training program, not only do we teach you to become a bus driver, but we pay all of your fees to get your CDL! You have absolutely NO out-of-pocket costs for licensing. Once hired, you’ll begin with a salary of $18-$19 or more per hour and earn up to a $250 signing bonus! And, don't forget...

  • We offer a flexible work schedule (full-time or substitute) with summers off;
  • Along with full benefits, you have access to a Health Savings Account to ease your tax burden;
  • We recently began a referral program so you can be rewarded for recruiting more drivers.

Work in a Fun Environment!
There's no doubt that being a bus driver is an important job, but you know what? Here in Westerville City Schools, we have fun doing it! Every year, our team sponsors a "First Time Riders" event and performs the internationally-acclaimed (yes, seriously!) "School Bus: the Musical" to help students learn how to ride a bus safely. Our drivers participate in the annual "Ohio School Bus Driver Safety ROAD-E-O"; we have a recognition program to honor exceptional performance; and we like to surprise our team with some fun, unexpected things, like celebrating "National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day."

We Care About You!
We provide our drivers with a tremendous amount of support and make your safety, as well as the safety of your passengers, a top priority. We work in a modern facility (constructed in 2011), drive up-to-date vehicles (named a Top 40 Green Fleet in America), and have a full-time position dedicated to support student safety and discipline. If you have any minor mishaps, our goal is to help our drivers improve. We take a team approach to provide additional training, as well as follow-up support, that helps you do your job better. In fact, we were featured on the local news as a Transportation Department that provides a model support program for its employees.
