May 5th is National Bike to School Day May 5th is National Bike to School Day

May 5th is National Bike to School Day, which celebrates active commuting while building a sense of community and school spirit. The event also brings attention to the importance of creating safe routes to school. More than 60 percent of past Walk and Bike to School Day organizers said their events led to policy or environmental changes in their communities.

Across the Westerville City Schools, students, teachers, staff members have rallied around charitable projects to support local community groups and school families for the holidays.

Donation from Westbury Woods community absorbs school meal debt for all students; Neighborhood Bridges connection aides district homeless students Neighbors of Westbury Woods donation

The Neighbors of Westbury Woods (NOWW) community have organized several holiday giving projects for years. This year, they've helped a family in need, collected coats, hats, gloves and other winter apparel for those who are homeless and supported Westerville families and children.

Their latest effort will reach students across Westerville City Schools. Through their donation of $1,080, the neighborhood group has been able to resolve the school meal debt for all students in the district.

Seven students from Westerville Central and Westerville North high schools have been named finalists for the Voices of Hope poetry slam 9 p.m. Saturday.

WCSD Resumes Blended Learning Instructional Model on December 7

Beginning December 7 and continuing through December 18, WCSD will resume Blended Learning, which allows each cohort of students to receive five more days of in-person instruction prior to Winter Break.
